Our Story: The Missing Piece
Dragon’s Edge started in a workout class. I was standing in Warrior II, cinematic music building around me, holding two rubber dumbbells and thinking about Aelin Ashryver Galathynius. In my head, there was powerful fire, steel, training montages, impossible battles, and the mantras we return to when we need to become a little braver: You Do Not Yield. Not Today. Don't Let The Hard Days Win. We had the swelling music. We had the intuitive, strong movement. We had the stories and the characters who made us want to feel stronger, more courageous, more resilient, more alive, powerful. But something kept breaking the spell. The tool in my hands was completely wrong. I did not feel like a warrior, I felt like I was holding two lifeless rubber blocks.
So we created the tool that was missing. We replaced the dumbbells with weighted daggers—something that could make the movement feel truly connected to the stories already unfolding in our minds. Because we do not only want to read about these worlds; we want to step inside them, move as the characters move, and carry their strength into our own lives. Again and again, these characters show us that when we cannot think our way through something, we can move our way through it.
Feyre walked through Velaris as she healed from Under the Mountain.
Nesta climbed ten thousand steps until movement began to rebuild her.
Rowan trained Aelin until she could find her strength again.
Violet Sorrengail trained a body everyone underestimated, learning to adapt, move differently, and turn what others saw as weakness into her edge.
Bryce danced and sweated until the noise cleared and clarity returned.
Movement brings us back into our bodies. It steadies us, clears the mind, and reminds us that even when we cannot see the whole path forward, we can still take the next step, the next move. We had the music, the mantras, the movement, and the stories. The daggers became the final piece that was missing —the tool that helps us train, imagine, and step into our own story. Because the most important story is the story we tell ourselves.
